Presbyterian Women Circle Descriptions

 

Circle 1 is a fellowship of women (60’s and up) who meet in the Women’s Suite at 10:00a.m. on the
second Monday of the month. They have Bible study, refreshments, and lots of fellowship. The
leader of this group is Mary Blackman and Betty Burns gives the monthly Bible study.

 

Circle 2 is a delightful group of ladies that would welcome new members of any age. This group
meets in homes on the second Monday of the month at 10:00 a.m. The leader is Jean Sayres and
the Bible moderator is Sabra Bushnell.

 

Circle 3 is made up of a group of women (60’s and up) who meet on the second Monday of the
month at 10:00 a.m. in homes of the members. The emphasis is Bible study and fellowship. Special
interest is the Christmas gift bags that this group packs for the adult residents of Providence House
each Advent Season. The leader of this group is Lorraine Guice. Cathy Weaver gives the monthly
Bible lesson.

 

Circle 4 is a group of older women who meet at the church on the second Monday of the month at
11:30 a.m. They bring a sandwich and have light refreshments. This faithful, loving group of
Christian friends has lively discussion as they study the Bible lesson together. The circle chairman is
Margaret Fontaine.

 

Circle 5 is an intergenerational group which meets in a member's home for fellowship and Bible
study at noon on the 2nd Monday of the month. The Christmas luncheon is a highlight of the year
together, and guests are warmly welcomed. The leader of this group is Mary Anne Selber.

 

Circle 6 is a group of young women (post college), some in school and some just starting careers
and families, in their 20’s and 30’s. Meetings are held in the evenings and childcare is available as
needed. The chairman is Holly Guy and the co-chairman is Denise Hiller.

 

Circle 7 meets on the second Monday of the month at 10:30 a.m. in the church parlor or in the
homes of members. This group of women meets to study, to pray for one another, and the share
one another’s joys and concerns, along with a pot-luck lunch. New members of all ages welcomed
with open arms and hearts! The Circle chairman is Cathie Dodson and the Bible moderator is Mary
Ann Whited.

 

Circle 8 is a group of young women in their 30’s and 40’s supporting each other in this stage of life.
They meet in the late afternoon, with child care available. The chairman of this group is Lindsey
Wells Peery and the co-chairman is Anne Jenkins.
